Dunhill's stand at the recent 200 Dubai International Jazz Festival, posed some challenges, not in the least, that the client was unable to use any name branding due to laws on promoting smoking.
A concept was born though to create a stand that had a jazz feel, whilst getting over the corporate image of the brand through colour schemes. We decided to create a square stand around 9m with a hanging cube in the centre. This would project images associated with jazz to help draw people across. Once on the stand, they could choose to enter their details onto a database and talk about the product (as long as they were over 18!)
Also, on the stand we created a small 'recording studio' backdrop, and throughout the period, various musicians performed. Dotted around the stand were other props. such as trumpets and saxaphones within glass cases, to enhance the 'jazz' feel.
The stand was a great success for the client and was busy throughout the 10 day event, so the message was certainly delivered despite the initial problem of how to shout about the product with out saying the brand name!
